Update South Hull Neighborhood Park May 1, 2025

Paperwork for the Friends of South Hull Non-Profit has been filed.

The land will be officially transferred to Friends of South Hull May 6

Volunteers from the Harding family took down parts of the old fence.

The health hazard in the neighboring lot is well on the way to being resolved thanks to the City of Montgomery.

Thanks to the industry of Cheryl Lang, Friends of South Hull officer and SHDA member, the Park has been given a generous $1500 by Maureen C. Trussell, Executrix of the William E. Osterhoff Estate to be used to purchase a children’s splash pad and other equipment. Thank you!

Maitri and Vinny Chandrasoma donated a picnic table with benches. A second table with benches will be paid for by an anonymous donation. Thank you!

Update South Hull Neighborhood Park April 22, 2025

  • As legal work is completed this week and the release of Neighborhood Services funds is set into motion, ground work at the site will most likely begin in May.

  • A health hazard presented by an unkept lot on neighboring land that would delay opening the park is set to be cleared in May according to city officials. Once it is cleared a community work day will be scheduled.

On Friday April 25 at 10 a.m. a small crew will be at the park (the corner of Plymouth and Wilmington) to clear out old boards and any debris. Join us if you can. It should take no more than an hour or so.

Kip Harding and his son Thunder pitch in to help at the new Park.

Park Update MAY 22

Volunteer Work Days! Saturdays May 24 and May 31 8 a.m. to Noon. Brings gloves, hoes, and rakes.

Donuts, coffee, beverages. Fun and Friendship. Be part of building South Hull’s First Park.

Our Resident Master Gardner, Cheryl McKiearan on Wilmington Road walked the park this week with Linda Dennard and offered advice for pruning and planting. As weeding and pruning is completed, she is generously preparing a site plan for our gardens to compliment the sun availability and maximize beauty and sustainability. We’ll use the map to plot different spaces within the park. Prepare for a gorgeous spring at the South Hull Park!

The Back fence has been replaced and the neighboring hazard eliminated.

Water and Garbage Service and outside faucets are scheduled to be online Monday.

Watch the whiteboard at the entrance to the park on Plymouth for updates.
